I have a 55 litre tank with two convicts, 2 danios and one pleco. The filtration is done by one Aquaclear 200 (running at 50% strength) filter but no undergravel filter. pH +- 7.4, ammonia very low and nitrate average to high. (difficult to keep low in this small tank). There is one plant in the tank and temperature is constan at 25 degrees celcius. I do +-25% waterchange weekly. The water is crystal clear. With every waterchange I add the prescribed amount of Aquaplus (dechlorinator and fin and body coating) 3 Days ago I saw a curtain-like feature in the tank attached to the glass walls on the inside. It looks like tiny white eggshells (but it is not!!) attached with some clear and short stringy substance. I immediately did a 50%+ waterchange and removed all of this substance I could see with a sponge. I might have missed some but it seems to grow back. I also added 5 ml general aid and repeated the addition of 5ml general aid last night (I noticed growth of this stuff again). What is this stuff against the glass and how harmfull is it to the convicts? How do I get rid of this permanently? Regards IP: Logged |
