I am new to the peek-a-poo breed and need some help in caring for her coat. She is 5 months old and has been trimmed once but I would like some advice as to style of triming for her. IP: Logged |

Is there a way you could post her picture. Now does she have the continuous growing hair of a poodle or hair that grows like the peke. Usually with mixes the puppy cute looks good on them. Which is basically the same length all over except for the tail possibly. You could ask around your area what groomers are used and see what they suggest. I groom my own poodle. I'd love to see your peke-poo. Lots of brush is a requirement. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Yes, alot of people prefer to keep their pekapoos in the puppy cut especially during the summer. I try to keep the hair out of their eyes, keep their hiny trimmed to avoid dingle berries, ha ha....and keep the hair out of their ears. Other than that I let mine pekapoos keep their hair in the winter and trim in the summer to keep them cool. I hope this helps. I have a year old peekapoo and recently got him groomed because his hair was so bad he couldn't even see. Well, lets put it this way, I could't even recognize my cute little fluff ball when they gave him back to me with his whole body shaved except a puffy tail and horrible face that wasn't him at all. So my advice is to defiently go to someone who is used to grooming this breed (we went to Petco) or they'll end up cutting him like a terrier! IP: Logged |
