I am getting my shih tzu around the 30th of this month and I want to get insurance for him. It has been YEARS since I have owned a shih tzu so this is all completely new to me again. Plus the insurance has changed a little as far as what is offered. I was hoping to get some opinions on what is needed or the best policy to have with a shih tzu?? the two places to get this is www.petinsurance.com or www.petcareinsurance.com ANY input from more experienced owners/breeders of the shih tzu is greatly appreciated. I will be receiving 2 months free insurance from the breeder through AKC but haven't looked into that as far as keeping the policy with them.
thanks again!

I have the petcare insurance plan. The gold version. They have a very quick return on their policy. Usually within 2 weeks of the office sending in the papers(or faxing whatever they do). I am not familiar with the other one. Is it 14,000 per year and starts fresh the next year. That is the question I just sent to my provider. They have been great and always get reimburst.

Thanks Puttin 510, Yeah I'm pretty sure it starts fresh the next year. Pet insurance is the one I had also, will probably go with them again they were great the first time.
