I have a yr. old mini poodle who I have been making homemade food for, the vet gave me a good recipe, as she is a picky eater and wont eat dry food. She eats it and a few hrs, later will throw it up. Is it because she eats to much at time? IP: Logged |

If you are cooking her food you should look into the barf(bones and raw foods) diet online. There are other things are are important that should be added. I have a mini. poodle too named Sasha. I feed her a high quality kibble along with veggies. Dogs don't need to have a full gut every time they eat. I'm am not too sure about the amount of food to give her since its home made. But you have to consider that a min. poo has a small stomache. My poodle gets 1/8 cup kibble plus about 1/2 cup veggies twice daily. We were just discussing this in another thread called (feeding a senior) dog I believe it was. First off how much exactly are you feeding her. Also what does her diet consist of. You could try giving her smaller protions and see how that goes. If she is eating too fast, maybe hand feed her so you can give it to her slower. We need more info. How long have you had her? Sebastian throws up if he eats too much at one time or eats too fast. How many meals per day are you feeding? Maybe you can split up her meals so she gets several, small meals rather than one or two large ones. IP: Logged |
