Hi! My name is Deb and I am new here. I have been reading for a while and decided to register since I am now the proud human of Jack our 12 week old Maltipoo. Jack is absolutely the most amazing dog I have ever met! I cannot believe how smart this puppy is! I have been reading how intelligent these dogs are but had to see it to believe it!We are thrilled with him and I think he likes us too! I have one question right now. After Jack had his second set of vacs last Friday, he appeared to have a bad reaction, he became lethargic and weak and cried when we picked him up, as though in pain. I called the vet back and they said to watch him over night, if he got worse to call back. After about four hours he was back to his normal bouncy crazy self, but I am concerned about his next set of Vacs. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

You know when I got my 1 year old from the shelter, being we did not know if he had all of his pup shots, vet said he needed all of his puppy shots in succesion of course. But I do believe it was one of them that made his back very sore and he cried when it was touched. He was fine the next day and since then he is nearly 4 has not had any reaction like that since.

Welcome to the board! Your puppy sounds like a cutie. We would love to see pictures. Both of my dogs cry when you touch the spot they have their vaccines. They are usually fine in a couple of days or so. Since he will be due for Rabies you may want to get the last DHLPP and Rabies separately on different days since he seemed to have a little bit of a problem with it.
