I was looking at the different foods and some of these things shocked me. I used to give my dogs Avoderm. At least I was on the right track. Check out purina or any others and click on each item listed it tells you what it is. I was shocked. www.naturapet.com

I've been on that site before- the only thing that bothers me about it and other comparison sites tho, is the fact that it doesn't show whether or not the product uses any by-products or not. I know some foods listed in there use chicken by-products, and I'm not a fan of feeding things like that. In our area, we don't get some of the really high quality foods, or if we do they're rediculously expensive. We tend to stick with the Nutro Max or Natural Choice products due to the fact they have no by-products and we had a lab that had a corn and wheat allergy and they carried a line that was corn and wheat free and still had good quantities of the omega oils that we needed for his sking. I was sold on those products after he had been on it for 30 days and completely shed out his old coat, and the black spots on his skin (from the allergies) went away and he stopped flaking (due to the omegas and other fatty oils in the food). And even tho they're at the price-ier end, they're not as expensive as the Wellness products that the vet we go to now is pushing to sell. (although I like the list of ingredients in that too!!!). Hope I did'nt offend anyone here with my personal opinions. Sorry if I happened to, No offense was meant.

Nope, none taken. I just think that every once in awhile for the new pet owners stuff like this should be posted in order for them to make a decent choice. For those people with dogs that have allergies, check out california natural.

Sue: Did you click on each individual ingrediant? It tells you what it is exactly and if it is a bi-product or not. Go see.
