hi there folks. i dont have a pit bull [i have an akita] but id like to say good on you guys for sharing each others experiences and educating people. it really upsets me when a certain breed gets singled out by the media and public. i once had a lady come up to me and she had her grandaughter with her and she had been attacked by pitbulls. she told us this and paraded this girl around like a freak show and said the word 'pit bull' as if it meant satan or something. although i felt for the girl it just upsets me that theres yet another close minded person going around saying all pit bulls are the same. i hope you guys can spread the word that they arent all the same. keep up the good work!

Kyle I love akitas!! They are so gorgeous. It is nice to see that you came to visit us here at the Pit Bull section of the forum. Anyhow, something I want to mention that many people can agree with. Most of the time, when someone is attacked by a dog and do not know the breed, they blame Pit Bull's. Either the person who was bit or had family bit say it was a Pitty to make it seem more dramatic and because they think Pit's are absolutely vicious- or else media blames a pit for it. It is wrong because it is not helping any. I know someone who said they were bit by a Pit Bull when the Pit Bull that they were bit by had been put down two days before the incidant.. Ignorant people!! Thanks for your kind words!

Great name!! Kyle, my 9 month old son's name is Kyle, anyway it's nice to see new people come on the board. I'm not sure what Akita's look like. Are they like a husky or malamute? You might have come to the right site as I've heard Akita's are considered vicious in some areas. OHH GOD I'm going to look like real idiot if I've blamed the wrong dog!!! Actually Kyle just ignore this post ok.

Actually Neek-- in many places Akita's are considered dangerous dogs, but I find they are just high strung. They do resemble an Alaskan Malamute or husky sort of dog.

Hi! I don't have a pitbull either, but always just come over here, looking, bored, whatever! Pitbulls are BEAUTIFUL! So are akitas, we have one on our street, and he is pretty sweet! He was on a walk with another akita friend once, the dog of his owners girlfriend, I think, and another dog ran up and got attacked, but it was simple protection! He know has his owners new wives dogs to deal with, a blue heeler/bordercollieX and a scottish terrier! They are AWESOME dogs! The akita, i mean!

my names actually kylie lol. yeah akitas do look a bit like huskies. www.members.iinet.net.au/~kimandky/kumakins.jpg i think thats the addy of her. yeah akitas are considered dangerous in some areas. not in australia but they do have a bad rep. i usually have to tell people when they say 'oh they are those fighting dogs they are aggressive' that a. they are not the japanese fighting dog [thats the tosa] and b. they are only aggressive when brought up badly. mines a sweety though. she can be dominant and we have to watch that with other dominant dogs but apart from that shes gorgeous. she actually has an extremely small jack russel friend she plays with so that proves shes a softy. :P i wish my akita was highly strung!! shes only 1 1/2 but she looks and acts like an 8 yr old dog.
