Okay, I am not sure if I am the only one who deals with this, but both of my dogs get in my bed, get inthe middle, under the covers and insist on sleeping on my legs or on me somehow. Then they snore the night away. I am not sure if it is better for me to get up and go to another room or just leave them alone. It usually sdoesn't bother me but they will be big someday!!! Share your bed hog stories with me.. I'd love to hear them just to make myself feel like I am not alone inthe world.. haha. Also, Jekkyl howls in his sleep a lot. I do not know how he does it in one breath it lasts so long.. It is so goofy!

Thats funny, my AB makes funny noises sometimes too. When he's in deep sleep, you know, after the little sleeping shruggs and jerks, he makes this sound that sounds like a combination of howling, barking (but like in chirps), & whining. It's kinda hard to describe, it's one of those things that you just have to wittness in person. But i'm sure it's close Jekkyl's. It still boggles me on why he does this. What makes him do this in his sleep. I'm pretty sure he's dreaming, but what's in his dream that makes him holler? He's always done this since we first got him @ 8 weeks. I thought that it was just a puppu thing, & that it'll pass, but here we are @ 15 months, & he still doing it. I LOVE IT, it makes me smile & sometimes still makes me laugh. It sounds cute. It makes me want to wake him up and hug the sh!t outta him, but i know he's d e e p sleeping, so i don't. It also kinda bothers me, because i have this nasty thought that the breeder & breeders family (sons) did something to him or just treated him bad, something so bad that it stuck w/ him and he see's it in his sleep, & he's trying to get away. I have this thought because, when we were there at the breeders house (where i bought him), i noticed that the sons of this womans (the breeder) were the A-HOLE types. She even said that her sons do'nt listen to her, and that they give her a hard time. There's a long story behind her & her fam. I could'nt describe it all, now. Don't get me wrong, they were quite the establi$hed family. But just disfunctional, you know? But hey, who's is'nt, at least @ times... LOL! Back to my buddies dreams & weirdo sounds... I also think that he's still seeing his litter mates, his brothers, & sisters, his Mom & Dad, and that he's actually trying to call-out/bark-out for them. Amongst the two, i really hope that he's seeing number 2, but the thoughts kinda sad that he misses them still, but i'm glad that he can still remember them, you know? I really hope it's something like that, rather than something that was physically done to hurt him. I've actually tried waking him up a couple times to see if it's actually a "bad" dream, but he wakes up to me just fine, not stressed, or afraid, so i can't tell if it's something harming him or not. As long as it's something positive in his dreams, i hope it always stays w/ him.

Check-out my 1st dog. When i say my, i mean his love was for me, you know? Not to be stuck up or anything, . I mean, we've had other dogs when i was even younger, but they were'nt mine, they were my parents. They were a West Highland White Terrier (her name was Munchie, what a cool name huh!?), & a Germand Shepard.

Anyhow this is -BRUZER-, he was my 1st. I will always miss this guy. Everytime i speak of him, even now as i type, i'm still missing him. I hope this feeling stays w/ me though, you know, it's all i really have of him now. It's one of those good/warm feelings. I guess what makes it sad, is that i know this feeling will eventually fade, but thats what i don't want to happen. I want to be able to cherrish every moment i think of him, you know??
Anybutt, here he is. He's a BOXER. Kinda looks like a mix-Pit, w/ the chopped ears. I wish i never cropped his ears, i'm so stupid!
I wish i N E V E R did that to him. But then again, i was this punk-*** kid, trying to be/look hard... LOL! A sign of the times. But N E V E R again!!! That shett is lame! I don't even think it's cool to do in other dogs where it's considered to be standard. I just think it's wrong. A dog's natural ears look SOOOOOOO much better naturally. Some say when it comes to looks, that it's all about the dogs ears! Have you heard that? They have so much character. I just think if your not fighting your dog, which i think is in the book of lamess things you can do to/with your dog, than it's just plain & simply W A C K ! ! !

JUST WANTED TO SAY........MY 2 YEAR OLD PIT, WILLIE HAS SLEPT IN MY BED, IN THE MIDDLE OF MY BOYFRIEND & I SINCE HE WAS 7 WEEKS OLD. SOMETIMES IT CAN BE FRUSTRATING AS HE IS A BED HOG BUT I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN HE ISN'T THERE. HE TOO SNORES TERRIBLE!!! I'M DON'T THINK HE EVEN KNOWS HE IS A DOG!

Well, my German pinscher/Amstaff Casie normally sleeps on her own bed made out of layers of comforters and sheets beside our own bed. But last night it was too chilly in the house, so we put her bedding on the end of our bed and a few of her pillows, covered her up and she stayed there all night :}

Goodboy-- nice pic.. I will get one up of my first, Tootsie. She was bad with the sleeping thing.. She would grab your blanket and pull it off of you in the night, just so she'd be comfy. I tried the same thing, waking Jekkyl up in the middle of his howling binge and he would just open his eyes and jump right up and give kisses as if he hadn't seen me in days. Then he would stretch andcuddle with me. Jekkyl is extremely attatched to me. He has a hard time to trust people and when he doesn't know where I am he throws a royal fit. I think he maybe dreams of somethign happening to me or something making it so he would no longer be with me because of the way he is over excited to see me when he wakes up.. Not sure.. weird, wish I knew.

Wilbur- I don't think any of them realize they aredogs!! They have us so well trained.. haha!

Ahkanah- You are so lucky to have one that stays at the end of the bed. Let him/her get used to the bed and I bet in less than a week that you'll be making a post about your greedy bed hog pup. lol.

lol, no, she usually takes residence at the end of the bed. Before we took her away from her previous owners (who, might I add, just left her to starve to death), she had apparently never been on a bed or trained not to be. I have always loved my dog being on the bed with me, so even if she takes up space, I won't care. I still love her with every ounce of my soul.

I prefer to look at it as their way of trying to "keep me from falling out" when I'm suffocating between the furry carcasses of 2 55 lb APBTs and one 11 lb mini Dachshund Goo normally sleeps on the wall side, so I don't have to climb over her when I get up, then Annie sleeps between my feet. When Haley sleeps in there, she sleeps on the outside of the bed, because she gets kicked out at 7-8am anyway, so my mom can give her her shot, this way I just give her a little shove When all three are in there, I have about 8 inches to mash myself into between the two big dogs, then a foot on either side of the dachsie. It's 30-40 degrees here most nights now, and I've been sleeping with the windows open and fan on, but I'm sure I'll be glad to have monopoly over the "heaters" if we lose the real heat anytime this winter

Goo usually hops up when she thinks it's bedtime, then moves out of my spot when I come to bed, she has her own pillows because she was always thieving mine, and occasionally ends up with most of the blanket...

She also chirps and whoops in her sleep, and occasionally has fits of shaking, or running in place, strong enough to wake me from a sound sleep, but I usually just say something to wake her up, then go back to sleep. She's never had any lasting effects from it (though once she seemed to have a not-so-good dream, startled herself awake, and was a bit spooked for a while afterwards), so I just stop her if I notice, but otherwise don't worry about it.

Well my lil pitty "mary jane" she really thinks that she is our child. she'll come and get in bed with us in the middle of the night, and she has to sleep inbetween us, under the covers, and se hasto have her pillow. She will then put her "arms" around my necks and begin to snore. Last night we got all that rain 'n thunder and stuff that Houston got earlier yesterday, and we let our other 2 dogs in the house so they wouldnt get caught up in the storm. We have a baby gate that we put up so they wont come in the room and they all slepp right beside us whining. finally our oldest pitty, Angel" knocked down the gate and they all slept at the foot of the bed.

THESE DOGS DEFINITELY DON'T KNOW THEY ARE "DOGS"!!! I WOULD BE DEVISTATED IF ANYTHING EVER HAPPENED TO MY WILLIE. HE IS THE BEST AND NOW WE HAVE PUPPIES COMING FROM HIM AND MY INLAW'S PIT......SHOULD BE HERE BY THANKSGIVING......I CAN'T WAIT. THEN I WILL HAVE TWO OF THEM IN BED WITH ME. WILLIE ACTUALLY KNOWS WHEN IT IS BEDTIME CAUSE HE WILL START WHINING ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE WE USUALLY GO TO BED JUST WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO FOLLOW HIM UPSTAIRS. HE CRACKS ME UP! HE GOT HIT BY A HORSE TRAILER/TRUCK BACK IN SEPTEMBER WHICH GAVE HIM SOME MAJOR ROAD RASH AND A BROKEN JAW. IT DROVE ME CRAZY THE WEEK HE HAD TO STAY AT THE VET.....BUT 9 WEEKS LATER HE IS DOING GREAT AND I AM SO GLAD HE IS STILL WITH ME. HE WILL FOREVER HAVE MY LOVE!

Haha how cute Goob! Mayday and Sade have decided to lay almost on top of me covering both of my legs up to my middle of my back. Every night they wait for me to come lay down and then dog pile on top of me. The cats have taken over my pillows! and Tootsie (the lil chi) just kind of wedges herself in bt the big guys. We used to have a great system worked out but now my setter feels the need to sleep in bt my hubby and I. Any sane person would probably not allow it but I wouldnt be able to sleep without them. They are such good snugglers and keep the gas bill down

What is it with these Dogs anyway ? My pitt/mastiff loves to sleep in our bed and she sleeps right between us .. Most times when my husband gets up and leaves for work she will still sleep right up against me even though she has a ton of extra room ..
Sometimes it gets tight and it bothers me and I will push her over to the other side ..

Also she is a big puppy dog and we have a queen sized bed but between me and my husband and then brandy girl it can get crowded , When I tried to break her of this habbit , she got real sad and whined until I let her back on the bed again .

But I am going to get her a nice soft bed of her own for the floor .. She is just too big .. But I love how cuddly and affectionate these dogs are , it is amazing .. I have owned several dogs before and while all are affectionate , these types just are more so in so many ways .

I just love them ..

hehe...my house pit does the same thing. She hogs the bed no matter how big, this is a queen size with plenty of room. She could even sleep at the bottom but she refuses to. She will sleep right up against me. She also snores bad, even when she isn't asleep yet.

I eventually had to get a bigger bed because of my 2, I now have a king and they still manage to hog the bed even if it is just me in there with them. I had to make Czar stop sleeping under the covers ever since I got a heating blanket, because he falls into such a deep sleep and over heats and starts to hyper ventilate, Cali well she has never been allowed to sleep under the covers, if you want them to stop sleeping under the covers start now and don't let it persist and eventually they will learn that under the covers is not OK. But dogs sure do have weird ways of sleeping and they can make really funny noises.

We call Brandy Brando , like as in Rambo .. Because she is so solid .. and at times can be rough , but she never ever means to hurt anyone .. She is still in my bed despite us trying to get her out .. I think we are stuck with her being in the bed ..
She is very submissive .. I have not had a problem with her being aggressive at all ..

The snoring is unbelievable though , you can hear her rooms away !!!! she snores so loud ..

When she Farts it is noxious as well ! She could easily clear a room ! ha ha ha

But I love her dearly ...
