Last sunday my family and I went to Wallmart before going to the park and some1 had
left a basket full of puppies out front and left. Well we took a brown puppy and took
him home and then went to the park.

When we got home I really started looking at the dog and I was thinking it was a pitbull puppy. So I
arranged a home for her and then took her to the vet to get her de-wormed before I gave her to the
new owner so I could make sure she had a good start at life. Well when the vet saw my puppy she said
she didnt see pit at all in the puppy(i do but I am no vet) and said it was a boxer mix. Upon hearing this
I knew my wife would want to keep the dog so i called the friend and told him it wasnt a pit and
we were going to keep it. However the more I look on line at pitures the more confussed I am getting
about what breed it is, pits, mastiffs, and boxer pups all share some simuliar traits as youngsters
and I was wondering what I could do to ease my mind about my new pups heritage.

One thing that concerns me is that the puppy has really long fang teeth on her upper jaw, her jaws are not
really big yet but she is only about 2 months old....any ideas?

APBT puppies can look like boxers as a pup. My Sinful looked just like a Boxer with a longer muzzle she is even the color of a boxer. But hey if he is a pit mix you got a good dog!

Very true they can look very similar as pups. My friends female and my male were both mistaking as shar peis when they were pups and 2 of my females were mistaken as Pit Bulls, my Boxer is mistaken as a Pit all the time so go figure.
Also just because the vet says it is a Boxer mix doesn't mean its so. I have seen so many Pit mixes labeled as boxers mixes in shelters. And a golden/chow mic they thought was a shepherd.
Post a picture so we can all see him/her?
