Hi LadyV!
I understand your situation w/ trying to find the right name for a life-long friend. I got hundreds of them! I went through a whole lotta searching for "the right name" for my pups. Eventually, it came down to names in different languages.
As for a name for your pup, hmmm... Just off the top of my head from what you've described, how about "HERO", or "ECLIPSE"..??
These are "BiGG-DoGG" names, so make sure he's excercised well, & fed GOOOOOOOD! Ha-Ha!! Just joking, not necessarily. Good-Luck!

I kinda like Calliber I also like Eclipse. Picking names is hard I used to have one named Kane the next males I get will probably be Abel. I had a female named Collette. My sister in law names hers after the greek gods and goddesess I tend to name mine off the top of my head. My mother in law picks names from the bible. I have a friend that actually uses a baby names book lol. Just a few ideas.

ladyV Calliber is cute, but it is a mouthful when you are trying to train. I would go with a name that has no more than 2 syllables.

how about Max?

I recently adopted a 4 month old female pit. She is so gorgeous that I thought her name should show that. I did some name meaning research and found one I liked. I named her Ada, in Hebrew meansss beautiful. My other dog was said to be the king of the house so I named him Zeus, lord of the gods.My boyfriend's dog got his name because he jumped up while i was bent down and gave me a small bruise. He is Bruzer. It's so much more fun when the name has a meaning behind it.Try searching for a website by searching names and their meanings.I'd really like to hear what you decide on.

I like Conan for a pit, Conan was a good guy but he was strong. or Maximus. I love those warrior names. They just didn't fit my Yorkshire Terrier's look too well.
