You can't get papers from any reputable registry without the parents being registered as well. There are numerous sham registries out there that will take your money and register your dog as anything you like, but those papers are worth just about as much as the stuff you use to wipe your a** with. The APBR is NOT a reputable registry. They will register anything that LOOKS like a pit bull, without any actual proof as to whether or not it actually is or not. This is only opening the doors for mroe trouble for the breed when these "pit bulls" end up biting someone, and the owners claim they were "registered pit bulls". In addition to that, there is a lot of false info on their site. Quotes like this: quote: and quote: Make it look like they don't have the slightest clue about APBT genetics and the like. If inbreeding is a cause of "mental instability", and this type of instability was never tolerated when pit fighting was legal, then WHY oh Why was there just as much inbreeding in fighting lines back then as there is now?
quote: How are they able to do that, when they don't even know who the dogs' parents are???
quote: I have absolutely NO idea where they got this idea, but it's NOT true. Most cities with BSL require pit bulls (actually "pit bull types" is the term they normally use) to be registered with a city database, and licensed, but NOT registered with a breed club or registry of that manner.
