I currently am about to get a pitbull, I've had a male when I was growing up **funny how after 10+ years I still miss him** currently my wife owns a 3 year old yorkie. Now I have the choice between getting a 4-5 month male or female. Now I proably getting the female because I was told to try not get a same sex dog. But would it really be a problem if I get a male? My wife and I are bringing the yorkie with us to see how he gets along with them. but anyway advice would be welcomed
thanks in advance

Same sexes can be an issue with dogs.. however try them together and if you are determined to get a male it is possible. The dogs need to be separate when no one is around. Do not leave them unsupervised even for one minute to get a drink or anythign that short period of a time. There is no problem with having same sex, you just need to be careful adn make sure they are never left unattended. Even if you get a female. Female/female is harder to get along than male/male. However, make sur ethey are introduced properly and please keep an eye on the m at all times. If you need to go some place. Spearate rooms, crates, somethign they cannot get through. Need to be extremely cautious regadrdless of what sex your getting or what breed you are getting..
