I was wondering if anyone has ever found cists on their pit bulls. If that was a common thing for this breed. My harley had one on the back of his ear along time ago when he was pry 3 yrs old which my vet removed. He said it wasn't life threatening or anything but took it off anyways. Now I have noticed one on the inside of his back leg. Which being 10 yrs old I am a little nervous for him to have surgery.

APBTs are known to have skin problems, whether it be allergies or cists. Most of the time they are just little things that need to be removed. My male had a tiny one on of the top of his ear, his ears are cropped so it was easy to notice it. I took him to the vet, the vet removed it, gave us some antibiotic cream and he is perfectly fine. Haven't seen anything since. My male didn't have surgery, the vet just popped it and drained it and he was fine. Unless the cist is incredibly huge, I don't see a reason why your dog should go in for surgery to remove it.
