okay...gotcha now ![]() AST is from the same line so yes...I aggree with you. However, I'm not a breeder and those I do talk to seem to breed show quality...which would definatley have some dog aggression in there as everyone knows show quality must be certified and registered with the AKC and ADBA so direct decendents of fighting dogs (I think...I'm just starting to understand it a bit..please correct me if I am wrong). APBTs can't be registered with the AKC... only AmStaffs (though I guess if you really wanted to be technical, they were APBTs before they were AmStaffs) and SBTs. The UKC accepts APBTs and SBTs, but not AmStaffs. The ADBA only accepts APBTs. APBTs and SBTs have been bred without gametesting (at least in the US) for around 70 yrs now, so some will say that there is less of a propensity for dog aggression in those breeds, others will argue that it depends on the lines and individual dog, and is more common than people think. "Show quality" (at least in the context of UKC and AKC breeders) generally means that the dog is conformationally correct according to AKC and UKC standards. Usually the dogs that are entered in these shows are "pretty" dogs(some are more conformationally correct than others), but fairly far removed from any fighting ancestors because the owners have been searching for "pretty" appearance over fighting ability. The ADBA conformation shows look more for a dog that could win a dog fight, conformation-wise. For that reason, some dogs shown in ADBA events will have fighting dogs up fairly far in their lines.
