This is a quote by a flamer in another forum I go to frequentlyHere we go again.................ANOTHER family's seemingly tame pit bull maims
a 1 year old. Now her face will be scarred the rest of her life. What does
she tell curious people throughout her life? I hear something like this "My
Mom and Dad ignored repeated media/public warnings about these dangerous dogs
because they thought "not our dog, it is a sweetheart". but now, I am lucky to
be alive, eventhough my face looks horrid at the long scar on it. If only my
parents read rec.pets.dogs and read the warning a particular poster always
shared with the caring humans out there, they would have destroyed the dog
before it almost killed me." ---sigh--------

You dog loving freaks, you are next !!!! Protect your family if you love them.
Wake up!!!!!!

education CANNOT buy common sense

Here is a reply

eric,

i cant help feeling you wrote this message to provoke a response from the
more educated dog owners of the world. you clearly are someone who remains
uneducated and belives anything the media publish. pit bulls were bred to
be fighting dogs and the people who brought them had them for that very
reason years ago. today in most parts of the world such dogs are classed as
dangerouse dogs and so by law cannot be used for breeding anymore. the way
a dog behaves is purely down to the person owning it. lack of training and
understanding of individual breeds of dog will always lead to bad publicity
of certain breeds. what i would like to say is that as a dog warden,
someone picking stray dogs off the street on a daily basis the dogs that
will always cause me a great deal of fear when trying to approach them are
german shephards, jack russells and many cross breeds. staffordshire bull
terriers, dobermans, rottweilers and other dogs which are tarred as
'dangerous dogs' are usually collected with ease. i have been bitten by a
GSD and a minature poodle. the later being when i was only 5 years old and
the bite was centimetres from my eye. the person to blame? my mother for
allowing me to go near the dog when she knew it wasnt keen on children. the
person to blame for the pit bulls behaviour? the owner they clearly should
not have had a young child around a dog that they obviously were incapable
of controling. the reason the dog attacked im sure you do not know as your
blinkers are fixed with the words 'they told you so'.
