Just because the dog isn't some cute little fluffy mutt then it is most likely gunna be savage. They ban pitbulls then which dog will they obcess about next. It is not so much the dog but the owner. Any dog will bite. We have to be more responsible if we want to own these types of dogs, we need to teach children how to behave around dogs and how to treat them. After owning a bullterrier for 12 years hopefully I have learnt something. I do know that the breeds image doesn't do much for them. People would shy away from my dog, whereas I would trust my dog before I would trust one of those horrible little yappy mutts.
I now am the proud owner of 2 mastiff X ridgebacks which I love dearly BUT I watch them very closely with my 1 yr old son.

Battle on all large and ugly dog owners.

Most of what you have said I would agree with except the part where you say "teach the children to behave around em". I hope that you are teaching your 1 yr old correct because god forbid your baby doesn't touch the dog incorrectly. Most of the time when children are raised around dogs, they automatically learn. But ones that don't have dogs around, they would not know. That is why accidents happen not because the children dont behave around them, most of the time its due to never being around dogs or any animal for that matter. My two sons now grown men was raised around the working class dogs, they loved and respected all animals, interesting though we have been through 2 terrible dog attacks...this topic has gone to the moon just like Albert stated, and so many questions float with people saying its the dog or its the owner.. Really people does it really matter after the attack and its too late? Well good luck
Big Dog Owner, but your last statement really got me when you said "BUT i watch them very closely" Well big dog so did I and it didn't make a difference when a dog attacks it happens so fast you wont even know whats up or down..and you will probably wish you had owned a yappy mutt
