I think they're great! Nice and snuggly for a cold dog. I have the opposite problem: I have two Huskies that are just LOVING the cold! I can't keep them inside now. They are just happy to go out in 27 degree cold to run around and play and take their naps! Classic snow dogs - They are absolutely in their element. During the summer, they spend their time inside with the air conditioning.

Hi, I have a husky and two poms. One of my poms is not growing her winter coat in too well so we got her a sweater and so the other wont be left out we got her a little shirt. Well they love them. They both get upset when you take them off. My husband thinks its the silliest thing but they keep both warm. Now my husky wears boots, b/c as in the other post she must be outside all the time when its cold, but her paws get cracked up in the snow. So all in all, I love doggie clothes and my girls seem too as well. By the way, how long did you find it took your dog to get used to boots. My girl is tolerating them but will wear them. Sometimes she walks like she is drunk. LOL.

All three of my boys have coats. Darby is the Poodle, he has a nice warm "ski jacket", Witt and Dooley both have wind breaker type rain coats by OuterHound, I bought them at an auction that benefitted a shelter. I was doing it mostly to tease my husband and to help the shelter out...but the boys do wear them when it's windy and wet and cold, I think they appreciate them. I will be getting horse type blankets for them from a company called BMB. They are a tack company for horses, but they also make some dog coats and they pertsonalize them with embroidery. They are very sharp and not "foo foo". You get to pick the fabric color and piping or trim color. They have a large selection of colors. They also sell leashes and collars with the embroidery on them either their names or a phone number...whatever you want. In fact they will personalize any product in their catalog and they have lots of stuff for people horses and dogs.
I am making Dooley some leather "skid boots" right now for flyball, they are like splint boots for horses. I was thinking I should make them each a pair of boots out of cordura or something..maybe neoprene, for when we go play at Mt. Hood in the snow.

Four of our dogs (2 APBTs, one dachshund, one Chi) have coats/sweaters, one (the Cocker, we just let her fur grow out some) does not. One of the APBTs has booties, one will be getting a pair. The other dogs either aren't out in the snow much, or are so short (the dachsie) that booties wouldn't help anyway. None of them seem to mind getting "dressed up", although it did take Goo a bit to get used to the booties on her feet. Last year I used baby socks to keep her feet from getting cold, but they needed to be switched often when they started to get damp.

Here's Goo after getting her socks on last winter...

And Annie the dachsie playing fetch with snow, with a sweater (actually, the sweater is not attractive at all, but it was long enough for that scrawny little body of hers, so I can't complain ) on

I would love to find a sweater or coat to put on Tootsie for this winter. Its just too cold for her to go outside but she demands to be let out with everyone else.
She is a very badly bred chi who only weighs about 3 1/2 pds and nothing fits. Either its too big and she cant manuever or its too short because she has a slightly longer body.
The only sites I have found that might have clothes to fit her are $50 and over and I would really like to find something around 20.
Does anyone know of any really good dog fashion sites? lol

If you don't mind her looking a bit goofy, buy a pair of warm socks, cut leg/head holes, and send her on out. I've done this with Annie during cold muddy times, when she needed exercise, and I didn't want to have to keep washing her coat.

You might also try this place: www.petedge.com
I've ordered a few things from them, and been very pleased, both by the prices and quality of the stuff, and they seem to have some pretty small sizes.

You could make her something pretty easily. I am horrible with a sewing machine, they infuriate me, but I manage ok. Just keep it simple. Polar Fleece can be bought for very little at fabric stores and if you look in the remenants you may get an even better deal. Velcro keeps things simple too. I like Goobs idea with the socks. I was picturing the kind of hunters socks they use for sock monkeys, lol...put a little trim on it and wowza!
