Dooley went as Bat Dog, I made his wings from copper wire and a pair of childs tights and then attached them to his flyball harness. He is hard to see and his wings are even harder to see. Witt went as the Cowardly Lion, I made the mane piece, tail piece and the Badge of Courage. The mask I bought at the Dollar Tree and did alot of reconstruction to make it fit his face. We used a 3M spray on glue to get the tail piece on...it is industrial strength and took a while to get off the hair. We went to an event called Frite Lites, it is a Halloween light display that you walk through. They had a Dogs Night Out with a costume contest so we went. We had warm elephant ears and cocoa and walked around on a nice evening.

It was ALOT of fun making the costumes, I like doing creative things like that. Witt let me try that mask on him a zillion times and never complained, I had to take some of the stuffing out and then put some back and adjust and re-adjust, cut and sew, attach straps etc...he let me try it on him over and over and would just sigh. I want to make Dooley the Tin Man next year using paper towel rolls and tin foil etc... Still thinking about one for Witt. IP: Logged |
