Jamiya, I saw in one of the other threads that your dog tries to bury bones in carpets?! Tyson does the same thing, except once we were out and he really went overboard...when we got back there were streaks of blood in every possible corner & also in a pile of clothes I'd left on the floor...of course his nose was all raw  He'd never done it to the point of bleeding before and I was amazed that he went to all the trouble....wouldn't it have hurt him?? He hasn't done it to that extent since then but once in awhile we do find the odd telltale streak on the carpet (we've had to buy one of those handheld steamers!)I find it bizarre that he wouldn't learn that it hurt & give it up. Hi, I know I'm not Jamiya but, yes your dogs nose does feels pain. But it's just instinct to want to bury bones. Although I do know that dogs have a much higher tollerence to pain than humans do. Although for we women that have givin birth, I think we are right up there...heheheh....anyway he sounds like he really gives it his all....poor thing, hope he figures out no one is going to take it from him and slow down a bit....Susan IP: Logged |

Poor guy! I know there are other stories of dogs hurting themselves. I think they are rather obsessive critters, or they can be. There are stories of dogs obsessed with fetching balls that will actually run themselves to death if the owner doesn't make them stop the game. Making a dog give up (or at least control) an obsessive behavior like that is a lot of work. Hopefully your guy will not do it anymore!
