Hi Remember Me? well now Snickers ( my puppy) is nine weeks old and he at nite he deep hard and I am scared of Snickers having asthma is this okay? should we take it to the vet again? please reply ASAP!

Hi Cindy, please re-read your post and then make it more clear. I didn't understand what it was that made you think he has asthma. What kind of puppy is it?

My Lab is two and snores like a sawmill. He is in perfect health. A simple check by your Vet should ease your mind.

Thanks but he just started to chew on wires and he swallowed a peace of plastic paper and he is out side and somtimes he eats rocks and grass and I do not no what to do!

Cindy, if it will ease your mind take him to the vet for a check up and discuss with your vet the issues that have you concerned. Eating grass is fine, my dogs eat it all the time, so much so I asked my vet about it. He said some dogs simply like to eat it, which seems to be the case with both of mine, they are even selective about which kinds they eat. Eating other things like rocks, wire etc is dangerous, you have to treat your puppy in the same way you would treat a human toddler, watch them very carefully and keep them out of harms way. A friend of ours had a lab mix female that he got at the same time I got my puppy, they were the same age. We board our horses at their place and that dog would take tack, garbage, tools, rope...anything she could get ahold of under their deck, she ate ALOT of stuff which ended up causing them alot of money and the death of their dog. She got really sick and when an X-ray was taken you could see all sorts of items in her tummy. Nails, screws, rocks, the brass hardware off of a horse halter, part of a lawn chair..the list was amazing. They spent $2,600 in vet bills and still ended up having to put her down. I'm not telling you that to scare ya more...just so that you will know how important it is to watch them and keep them safe. Provide your puppy with lots of things that are safe for him to chew on. A Kong, toys, greenies etc. When you catch him chewing on something he is not supposed to, say "no" taking the item away and replacing it with one of his toys that he may chew on. Wait, when he begins to chew on the toy..REWARD "good girl/boy!". Hang in there and do talk to your vet if you think you need to.

My Yorkies are just like little babies they will eat anything that falls on the floor and they are quick about it also if you drop anything you better bend over quick to pick it up or it will be gone (usually under my bed) but my little jasmine was coughing the other day and really scared me because i relized i have no idea what to do for a choking dog. She is only 4.3lbs i would be afaird i would crush her or something does anyone know what to do if your dog is choaking?? thanks

I agree with Maisey, if you have so many concerns, as it seems you do! take your puppy to the vet and get a check up. It sounds like he or she is just being a puppy though, and you need to watch what it's doing. The advise about taking away what he shouldn't have and giving him something he can have, is good advise. Do that! And the grass issue is not something to worry about, most dogs eat grass, mine do. They even sell it in pet store's. So good luck! and I'm sure you'll do fine, just keep reading and using the advise givin....Sincerely, Susan

Renee, a while back I posted a link to a site that tells you step by step how to perform the heimlich manuver...do a search to find it and then put it in your favorites, if your memory is like mine you might forget the procedure!
