I had earlier posted that my dog was not eating. I took some advice and gave it honey to bring its sugar up. A couple minutes after we did that the dog threw up round worms. Atleast I think that it is round worms from looking it up. I am wanting to know if anyone knows whether or not humans can get it. And, also I am wondering the most efficeint way to treat it. I know that you buy dewormer at the pet store, but my husband thinks that we should take it to the vet. What should we do? ------------------ IP: Logged |

YES! Please take your dog to a vet. A dewormer is for a preventative medicine and most likely wouldn't work in this severe a case. If he is throwing up worms then he needs to be at a vet ASAP. Please don't delay. [This message has been edited by Karriesue (edited 11-07-2003).] IP: Logged |

yes, humans can get it, so be sure to pick up any poop quickly! Please take him to the vet. my dog and his sister had it, we took a stool sample (since my dog had actually pooped one, which is very rare!)and they gave them some medicine and now they are worm free! IP: Logged |

Are you sure they were worms? One time my cat threw up what I thought were worms. I was freaking out until I looked really closely, it took me awhile to realize they were leather tassles from a toy she had been eating! IP: Logged |
