I had earlier posted that my dog was not eating. I took some advice and gave it honey to bring its sugar up. A couple minutes after we did that the dog threw up round worms. Atleast I think that it is round worms from looking it up. I am wanting to know if anyone knows whether or not humans can get it. And, also I am wondering the most efficeint way to treat it. I know that you buy dewormer at the pet store, but my husband thinks that we should take it to the vet. What should we do?

YES! Please take your dog to a vet. A dewormer is for a preventative medicine and most likely wouldn't work in this severe a case. If he is throwing up worms then he needs to be at a vet ASAP. Please don't delay.

yes, humans can get it, so be sure to pick up any poop quickly! Please take him to the vet. my dog and his sister had it, we took a stool sample (since my dog had actually pooped one, which is very rare!)and they gave them some medicine and now they are worm free!

Are you sure they were worms? One time my cat threw up what I thought were worms. I was freaking out until I looked really closely, it took me awhile to realize they were leather tassles from a toy she had been eating!
