My fiance' and I have a Boxer and just adopted a 16 month old Rottweiler who seems to be very sick or scared. She had a very upset stomach the first few days with us. We didn't know if that was because of lots of transitioon in her life and another "new" home or a problem. We fed her rice and switched her to the Iams food we use with our Boxer and she is going from solid and fine to very upset stomach episodes and doing it in the house, the middlee of the night and in her crate while we are at work. HELP! We hope she isn't chronically sick! Any adivce appreciated! IP: Logged |

I think I would want to rule out anything physical by taking your new pup to the vet, not only for her but for the sake of your Boxer too. It may well be just a bad case of nerves, but better safe than sorry. Switching food abruptly can cause a dog to have upset tummy and vomiting. Did you get her from a rescue or shelter? How long have you had her? Do you know if she has been to a vet recently? Current on all vaccines? The Food For Thought thread on here may have some helpful hints on foods for upset tummies.
