I read an article today that explained Struvite Urolithiosis. My dog has had this issue for years and yet this is the first time I feel like I truely have a clear understanding! It is a fairly common problem in cats and dogs although I learned today that 85% of dogs with this type of crystal are female and that my dog is one of the rare cases where the stone is formed metabolically and not in conjunction with infection. I am mailing this article to my vet in hopes he will pass it out to his patients who have to deal with this, and I am posting it here for anyone who is interested. http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_canine_struvite_bladder_stones.html IP: Logged |
