Is it Possible to title a subject post "Food For Thought" and post some of the stuff we have all been posting. Facts, resource info, links, opinions hints etc, all pertaining to food. That way when someone asks a food question we can refer them to that specific titled thread. We could cut and paste informational posts from previous threads all into one. What do you think?

not only that, but how about - "puppy training" - it seems that about 80% of the posts are about this. from needing advice ontraining to how to potty train.

By all means guys go for it!! I dont see a problem with either. Just a suggestion. To make it more accessible since there are so many posts on this board. You may want to post them over at the Articles-Dog Care and Health board. That way it can be more easily added to and viewed. This site doesnt have the option to pin posts to the top so we cant do that. Wish we could there are a few topics that I would like there. But feel free to make a post on food, treats, training, whatever you think is important. The only thing I ask is that you give facts, you can give your own opinions on individual foods, but ya know the rules as far as anything else goes. You may want to ask also since you want to make an informative referral type post that in your opening post you may want to add that this is only to be an informative site and any discussion about it should be posted on another post. That way you can keep it an informative post without it turning into a discussion and can be more valuable for the newcomers or oldies with questions. Once you start anything Ill add some stuff over there for ya as well. Geez I know I have so many informative links Im sure someone can benefit from them. Good luck and if ya have anymore questions please feel free to ask.

LOL...I didn't even know that was there. I only come to this section. I'd rather keep it here for others who are like me and don't go to the other sections if that is ok. I'm not sure I understand what you were telling me about posting other sites addies though....I was just going to cut and paste from other threads and put it in one that is labeled. Alot of good food info is located inside posts that you would never guess have to do with food. I was going to include the recommendations and opinions of others as well, did you not want me to do that? Mostly I just wanted to combine the food posts.

Great idea Maisey!!!
I think RM (RottyMommy ) suggested posting to the Articles-Dog Care and Health board because its not as busy of a forum, where as posting it in this forum is fine too, but unless someone adds to it every day it will get lost in the Archives because this board is so busy. But you're right, I don't go to that forum often either... so posting here is fine and we can always post the link if it does get lost.

It's difficult to give "facts" pertaining to foods, feeding, and recommendations because a lot of what is out there is anecdotal info, as well what works for one might not work for another. Anyone can put anything on a website, that too should not be taken as fact. Its great to recommend reading/sites/and offer input but I would also add a little disclaimer that people should do their own research and the opinions of others are not necessarily going to be right for everyone nor should they take the place of vet care. **Please also add that sources and references should be cited when copying and pasting information written by others.

Good idea RM about it being an informative thread, and to discuss in another post. That way we can avoid a really long thread full of "I use it too." or " XXX is a good food"

Post away Maisey!

Maisey why I suggested putting it on the other board was so that it could be looked at easier. That way if someone comes on and has a question pertaining to waht is posted over there people can just send them over there to look. Rather than go back 20 pages to find the posting that was posted and bumping it up. Just a thought. And yes I agree with what Jas said about the disclaimer. Everything on the web is not all facts. And I think a disclaimer at the top would be a good idea. What I meant about opinions was pretty much jsut "I think bla bla food is better" and so on. I dont want it to become that. Thats why I said to keep it more informative based and any responses to it should be brought up over here. Just my thoughts

Why don't we post it in both places, that way if it does get pushed back a few pages it will still be right there in the other forum?

Both places sounds great. Was the disclaimer enough? I basically took what Jas said and modified it a wee bit.
