I have a dog named foxie. She's 3 years old. Whenever I or whoever goes out, we always put foxie in her cage. All was good...untill she got the cage open one day. She did the for a few days untill we bought locks for the cage. Now she can't get out, unless we unlock the locks. (this may seem cruel but its the only way mom will let me keep foxie) BUT she still thinks she can open the cage door, so she keep rubbing her face and nose against the cage, and by doing that shes scratching her face up really bad. I wnat her to stop, but she thinks she can open the cage. Is there any way I can stop her? or maybe treat her scars...?

The reason foxie is in the cage is because she poops in the hosue when no ones around. Even if we walk her and she goes outside and all she'll go again!..plus her cage is in the basement in the middle cuz she can move the cage around too, she ripped up 4 carpets and made a hole in the hall way carpet too..

Sounds like your dog has separation anxiety issues Angel.. Try putting padding or something where she rubs her nose.. I'd put some Neosporin on the cuts just to get bacteria out and all.. You might want to lookinto gettingher a kong with a little peanut butter in it and give that to her when you place her in her crate because most dogs are so busy chewing at them trying to get the goodies that they forget you are gone. Maybe a few of her favorite toys willhelp her feel more comfy as well.

Do find some info on separation anxiety and how to deal with it. It can get better, but it takes a lot of time and work.
