Your dog should be fine. Just limit her activities for a few days. My 6 month old Bulldog was spayed last week. No jumping on the couch like mine wanted to do all the time! And I carried her up the stairs for about 3 days, just because I was worried that she might hurt her tummy. The vet kept her over night because she was still too sleepy to bring home the same day. (Surgery started late in the day)
The vet also told me to give her one Childrens aspirin at night for the first few days in case she is uncomfortable.
Most dogs are perfectly fine after the surgery....just baby her and she will do great!

She will be getting all the attention that she needs. Also just with feeding her, do u feed her normally or feed her less, im just worried to that if she is to full it might hurt her tummy.

My aussie x was spayed at 4 months and acted as if she had'nt even had it done....she came home acting just as hyper as usual. The vet was so worried that she would rip her stitches that I had to give her tranquilizers for the first few days to keep her calm. I was advised to give no food until late in the evening the day of the surgury.

She's home and doing very well. We picked her up Friday afternoon and she was very dopey from all the anesetics (can't spell it). She didn't eat at all on Friday night, only had about a tea spoon of meat, but she drank some milk. She later vomited that up which was what I was expecting as the vet told me that she might vomite because of the anesetics. She slept very well and warm in the Laundry as the hubby put a hot water bottle under a few blankets and warmed her up.

Saturday she didn't move much at all as the anesetics would have warned off. She walked from the Laundry to the lounge room and layed with me the whole day and slept. Im still keeping the fluids up to her and she's been keeping them down, she's turning her nose up at the food apart from tonight (sat night) where she ate half a can of tin food and still been just laying about and not doing much (is this normal).

Because she had an infection in her uterus a couple of weeks ago, I noticed today when I took her out the toilet that she had a discharge coming out of her vagina like a really thick snot. I was very worried, I rang the after hours Vet and asked him. He said that because she had that infection, this could be the remainder of it coming out. If she is still dischargin on monday to take her back and get her checked out.

She gets up and walks every now and then, and doesn't seem to be in pain. Her tail wags like mad when we talk to her, so she seems be doing fine and I think she's loving ALL the attention that the hubby and I are giving her.

She goes back to the vet Monday week to get her stitches out, but i'll keep you informed.

Thanks for all your help..

Jody
