I have a cocker that I got from the pound 5 years ago...I realized early on why he was put to the pound because he WETS EVERY WHERE...no matter how many times I walk him he pees all over EVERYTHING...I am sick of it and it is know becomming very unsanitary...I have had him tested for all medical issues...but this dog PEES! EVERY WHERE...Would it be crule for me to leave him in my basement when I go to work and when we are not home?

Since you obviously have ruled out everything. You could try using belly bands. They are something a male dog wears around his belly and are similar to a diaper in that they hold the urine. He may not leave them on while you are gone though but you could try. Do you have a crate you can put him in while you are gone? He may not go potty in there. Otherwise I don't think it is cruel to be in your basement. It's better than being outside. I assume the dog is neutered since he is from the pound because that can make them pee everywhere if they aren't fixed. Good luck!!
