My dog was getting rather fat....so we cut down on her food.
Then when we gave her a belly rub (tickly her tum) se would yelp.
We took her to the vets and they said it was probabl just her muscles over the next few weeks she went down hill then one day i came home from work she was on the floor yelping and she could not get up we called the vet...and she was took in EMERGANCY... she was given tablets....then they said she had an somthing wrong but basically she had to have a histerrectamy (i dont know how to spell that) when they done her operation they found a massive growth on one of hewr ovaries i forgot how much in weight but it was big!!!! thats why she looked fat....anyway she stayed in over night and came home with one of those big collar things to stop her from licking the stickes.....she constantly went to the vets for more and more tablets intill she recovred then she got a skin infection...that she must of caught from one of the other dogs at the vets..

This site has a TON of info, including tumor info: http://www.cvm.uiuc.edu/petcolumns/showsect.cfm?section=Dogs

So it looks like your dog may be on chemo, I don't know all the facts, but if they gave her a hysterectomy and she had a tumor on her ovary, the pills are probably chemo, and they will make her feel poorly, but they may also cure the cancer. I suppose you should get some professional tips on making her comfy while she's being treated. Poor thing!

A "growth" is usually cancer.

Poor Husky, but what a good person you are to take the dog in after your friend gave up on her! Yes, a tumour or growth usually means cancer, but often in varying degrees of life-threatening. They removed it, now all that's left is to make sure it hasn't or doesn't spread.
