We got our huskey about two months ago and housebreaking has been going fine up until the last two days. He will pee in house just minutes after we have taken him outside. He's stopped whinning to at the door to be let out. Any one have any clue of what we should do??

What was working for you before this started? You need to go back to the basics and work on what worked with you for the first two months. Are you crate training your dog? My husky potties frequently if she has a bladder infection, but she is 16 years old, and is prone to them. However, a vet checkup is something to keep in mind if what you did previously does not help the situation. Crate training is a great way to potty train- you did not say how old your dog was, either. If it is a pup, it takes time- sometimes you think you are taking two steps forward and you are over the hump, then something happens and they seem to forget what they have learned. Also, is there anything different going on in your household that may affect the security of your dog, any changes that have taken place lately? Just some things to think about.

"Showing" a dog their mistake doesn't work, either. If you don't catch them in the act and correct them right then, there is nothing you can do except clean it up and be more vigilant next time.

Remember it takes time. I have two Huskies and went through it with each of them. Praise the heck out of them when they go outside. I never let them out of my site to run the house until I was sure they were fully potty trained and it took 1-2 mos until I was sure. Being that young, an occassional accident will happen to so take that into consideration. I leave the door cracked so my dogs can go in and out as they please (being in base military housing, I can't have a pet door until we get our own house!!) I agree with above, crate training is great, especially with Huskies that young! It helps with potty training and I would never trust a Husky to run loose in my house if I leave to go somewhere! There are too many things they like to get into! Good luck, be patient, and have fun with your new Husky! They are a blast!
