Okay.. I have a four month old female APBT. She was diagnosed with demodex mange. I asked this in the PItty forum but got no reply yet and decided that maybe someone here could help as well. She has to have dippings (treatments) with Mitaban every two weeks for six treatments. They say not to let her get wet, howver I read that the dog should be bathed once a week to get the dead mites and fur off of her. Does this mean once she is done being treated or now? Do I wait a few days before bathing her or do not bathe her at all?? Anyone who has been in this situation.. please help me out. Also, I was told Sulfodene medicated hsampoo for dogs (Relives itchiness and things like that) is great to use.. HELP SOMEONE PLEASE!!

Ummm...Hmmm... not too sure about my advice here but, i'd say after she gets the dipping wait for about a week, then give her the medicated bath w/ a benzoyl peroxide shampoo. You mentioned every 2 weeks she gets the dipping, so yeah, i'd probably wait 7 days b4 the bath. There are different types of medicated shampoo's for this specific type of problem, just find out which one your vet recommends and it should be Ok. He might recommend a 'leave-on' conditioner or something to relieve the dryness of the medicated bath. Something like Oatmeal works good. I use this tea-tree & oatmeal mixture, but i use it at the same time w/ the benzoyl shampoo. Works well (fights bacteria & all), and smells good.
Again, this is just my opinion, you'd probably want to ask your vetty.
