my best friend had a rotwiler that wasn't even a year old yet. all of a sudden she stopped eating and drak only water. A LOT OF WATER! and it went to the bathroom blood and threw up after it drank all the water. they took it to the vet, but they said it was too late, she died a little while later...i don't know what kinda vet she took her to, but they said they didn't know what it was that was making her sick. i also had a maltese (my sister brought it home, she works at petsmart and some lady abandoned it there)and it died from the same exact thing. does anyone know what this sickness is and what it's called???

When you first mentioned the excessive wated drinking I thought maybe a gland problem, But then your dog too. I'm wondering if your dog and your friends had spent any time alone outside. And if it is possible they could have gotten into something like antifreeze or someone poisoned them perhaps. If they spent any amount of time outside did they bark alot and scare any of your neighbors? I could be wrong but it could be poisoning of some kind.

I have to agree, it sounds like some type of poisoning.

I know if a dog gets into antifreeze, they have something like less than 24 hours to get to a vet in order to survive (and I don't remember the window of time, it may be shorter than that).

It's a shame to hear that all of that happened. I'm not sure what else the problem could be... I guess it could be almost anything.
