My mothers poodle/bishon is 11 yrs old. He has had bladder stones for a yr. The vet found them but does nothing. He has accidents in the house quite often. Is there a natural remedy that we can give Kozy for the stones? And what causes them? I'm assuming people food & low quality dog food. Thank you ------------------ IP: Logged |

Matty..my Poodle also gets them..he gets the struvite kind...I forget what the other ones are called. What you do depends on what kind of stones the dog has. Get another vet...the dog can die from this. The stones block urine from escaping and in time the dog will be poisoned by his own waste. We have changed my dogs diet and we tesh his urine weekly to make sure they aren't coming back. ****Struvite in Dogs Urinary tract disease is associated with the build-up of crystals and stones in the urinary tract that can cause painful and bloody urination and potential blockage in your dog. One type of crystal that forms in a dog’s urinary tract is called struvite. Struvite forms in response to urine saturated with magnesium, ammonium and phosphorus, as well as an alkaline (basic) urinary pH. IP: Logged |

Not sure if you got the first reply but thank you so much for responding. I'm trying to get her to change vets. He completely missed his congestion the 3 time in a row when he had an upper resp. infection. SHe is in denial about the conjunctivitic he's had for 3 years. I finally got her to take him to the vet. SInce treatment he is back to feeling young again. I will take the stones seriously & press her to take Kozy to another vet. You have been most helpful. Nancy in Ohio ------------------ IP: Logged |
