This is a very difficult thing for me to do. I’m not used to asking for help from anyone. However, I don’t have a choice. 5 months ago, my wife and I bought a beautiful Golden Retriever pup named Sedona. She was just 6 weeks old and quickly became a part of our family. We love her more than we could have ever imagined. A few weeks ago, she started limping. After taking her to the vet, getting X-rays and second opinions, the result is that she has been diagnosed with osteochondrosis dissecans of the humerus head. This is a degenerative disease and requires surgery. The surgery costs $6000, which is not an amount we can come up with right now. The surgery needs to be done quickly, or we may not have a choice but to put her down. This is unthinkable to both of us. So we are put in the unfortunate position of asking for help. If you can find it in your heart to contribute a small amount to help save Sedona’s life, we would be forever grateful. Any donations we receive above and beyond the cost of the surgery will be returned. Thank you in advance for anything you can do.

I am sorry about your situation with your dog. It must be very difficult to hear that news and that the treatment is so expensive. However, I am not sure this is the best way to go about asking for donations. You may want to consider a donation made directly to your Vet's clinic, in your Vet's name possibly. It just is hard for anyone here on these boards to know if this is actually safe and legal way of asking for help.

What about getting a care credit card. I have one and use it when needed. You have up to a year to pay it off interest free. Ask your vet about it.
