I just got my first dog on labor day. He's a 8 week old chihuahua and his name is Rory. Today I noticed that he had really watery diarhhea. He's still really active. Does anyone have any advice to help my puppy? I have an appointment for rory on monday.

It could be a number of things- stress, food change, worms. Just make sure the pup doesn't get dehydrated. Watch her or him carefully over the next few days. Can you call the place you adopted her from and ask more about the pups diet, history, deworming etc? It is not that unusual for a new puppy to have loose stools the first few days or so after adopting just from stress. But, you dog should come out of it as he or she adjusts to their new environment. Watch for fever, lethargy (loss of energy and pep) and make sure the pup is getting some fluids down. Call your vet by the end of this week if you don't see improvement soon, and see if you can get in sooner.

Ditto, what she said. Try to get an appointment sooner.

yes the best thing to do is try and get an earlier appointment as he/she is only 8weeks old and with really soft stools puppies become dehydrated very quickly try your pup on sum scrambled eggs with some boiled rice mixed in this worked on my dogs if that doesnt help try steamed fish or steamed chicken as all r light on the puppy's stomach
