Our Golden Retreiver puppy is 7 months old. He is our second dog in the house. His "Dad" is 2. This puppy has started defecating in the house and then eating it.We have never had a dog do this before. What is going on? What can we do to stop it? Please help!! Marie in Michigan IP: Logged |

hi there.... it is quite normal for a dog or puppy to do this its there way of supplementing there food intake u can try a few things to stop him doin this 1. the dog should be fed several meals a day of high fibre this will reduce the hunger sensation. 2. the more exiting ur dogs life is the less likely he will do it try stimulating his brain with lots of activities. 3.remote punishment when you witness your diog doin this throw a light object something that wont hurt him but it has to look like it has come from his faeces not u then ur dog will associate being hit by something for trying to eat it and will eventually stop.. but all in all this is normal and nothing to worry about
