Hello :-D

I wanted to let those of you who know the "story* behind my beloved Sheltie know, she is not Hypothyroid!!!!!!!!

It turns out, the dog food she ate the morning of the blood test, caused the red flags! Her T4 level was 1.7.

She is down to 1/2 pill of Pred every three days. No ear problems in over 2+ weeks now.

I can't tell you how relieved I am ::Thank You for the well wishes.. they worked!::

The other night when I went to brush her front inner elbows, I noticed the fur was tangled and felt course.

I always use a double sided wide to narrow tooth comb and gently go over the area with a slightly damp slicker brush.

What can I do to prevent future tangles? Any product suggestions?

** She is a 3+ year old Shetland Sheepdog **

Happy for you too. For her coat, do you strip it often. It cuts down on shedding but most of all drags out all of the dead unnecesary hair on her body. I use a slicker brush and a stripping rake(comb). Much less hair around the home. This should be done about once monthly in hot weather. It will make your dog cooler. Not as often in winter. But regular brushing should be done daily with dogs that matt. My ppodle started taking prednisone and a tagament type of stuff for arthitis 2 weeks ago. How is you dog doing on it. I am beginning to think she may be getting kind of depressed on it. She will take it for one more month and if things don't change she will stop.
