I found Frontline for my "under 22" pound Peekapoo at fleasupermarket.com. It was $19.95 for a 3 pack and $3.85 for Priorty shipping.

Just thought I'd share. My Vet charges $37.00 for the same kind and amount.

No can do.

Blessings all, Sugg's Mom

Sugar,
Good job!!!
Thanks for sharing the information with us

I did like, that they guarentee their product for (14) days. A lot of online places won't offer a guarentee.

I have heard that http://www.healthypets.com also offers good prices. You are *required* to have a prescription from your *Vet* in order to show proof that the *Vet* has OK'd you giving the pet the medicine.

As with any online store and with any medication, please check with your *Vet* first!!!!

I've ordered Advantage from healthypets.com several times. You don't need a prescription from your vet to order it...I think its only required for heartworm pills and some of the other medications but not for flea meds.
My vet actually told my aunt that the flea meds available for such cheap prices online are not exactly the same as the ones you get through the vet even though they have the same brand labels. She says they are not dangerous but are not as effective. I plan on discussing this with her myself at my next appointment.

Are you sure your Aunt's Vet doesn't want her to spend the MONEY WITH HIM ?

I do not know how they can possibly package the stuff the same and not have the same stuff in it....I think the LAW would be on them big time.

I think VET'S just want the money !!! And a lot of it. I know mine does.

Yeah, vets are good, we can't live without them, but they're in for the cash!!! So, don't worry, the medication is the same, from the same manufacturer, only you're dropping the "middle man"...
Speaking of tips, I've been buying Sentinel from theese guys (Australians, by the way) WITHOUT a prescription. They're cheeper than the U.S. prices even with the shipping costs. Of course, before buying it, make SURE your dog(s) are heartworm negative!!!!

While many online pet medication stores are OK and have trust worthy products, there will always be an online pet medication store that isn't OK and will have questionable products.

I have *heard* that a *major* online pet medication store was under question for selling outdated products and products made in Mexico. I *Can't* remember the exact name of the online pet medication store.

My advice to *anyone* thinking of ordering medications online is..

1. Where do you get the medications and where are the medications made?
2. If by chance I receive an expired product, what recourse do I have?
3. Are your products shipped from the United States or another contry?

While I *do* agree, some Vet Clinics are very worried about making as much money as they can, *not* all Vet Offices are!!

I must give my Vet a lot of credit
He has no problems with a client ordering medication online or by phone, he will allow a client to order special food and have it sent to the office, and he will tell you " I think you can get the medication cheaper at a human pharmacy," if it's possible.

I usually won't special order any medication or food. I figure, my Vet works very hard for his money and provides outstanding care for my pets!!

I recently ordered Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato Dog Food. The Vet didn't tack on a "shipping" or "delivery" fee.

The thought has crossed my mind but she is also my vet and definately does'nt seem like that type. She has on several ocassions not charged me for certain things (mostly with my strays) and she also does rescue and fundraisers for shelters so I have hard time beleiving that was her intention.
Anyway, its quite possible that my aunt misunderstood what she said and thats why Im going to discuss it with her myself. The products I order seem to work just fine on my animals.

Well I have just emailed healthypets.com and the Bayer company regarding this..hopefully I'll get quick responses.
After reading the FAQ on the Advantage website...Im confused as to how its so easily available online.
This is quoted from the Advantage site:
"Is Advantage sold only through veterinarians?
Yes. Bayer has always had the policy of selling Advantage only through licensed, practicing veterinarians with a doctor-client-patient relationship. It's even on our packaging. This is done to ensure you and your pet are getting the best counsel from the person who knows pets and their healthcare best -- your veterinarian."
"Where can I get Advantage?
It is the policy of Bayer Animal Health to sell Advantage only through licensed, practicing veterinarians. The reason for this is that we believe your veterinarian is most qualified to advise you on all aspects of your pet’s health, including flea control."

I got a reply from healthypets.com in which they confirmed that the Advantage I buy from them is the exact same as the Advantage I buy from my vet.
Still waiting for a reply from the Bayer company though.

Nern: Out of curiosity. Did you ask them how anyone else gets access to the products other than veteranary personel. I know of a few places to get it just abound my town. But the price is still more than where I get it about $15 dollars more. I would only get it from them if I somehow forgot to order ahead.

I have talked to people in CA who go to MEXICO for their meds all the time. It is the same stuff....it's just that the pharmacuetials want MONEY MONEY MONEY and can get it. It's like in the hospital...we take a bayer aspirin there, it's about $12.00 a pill, in the store, it's a fraction of that.

It's the MIDDLE MAN....that makes the money...always has been. ...NOt that the product is different.

Most meds both human and pet are not costly at all....it's the PERSON issuing the meds that makes the PRICE OF IT GO UP.

Puttin510: Yes I did (I asked the Bayer company but not healthypets.com)...still no reply yet. I will probably just call them if they don't respond soon.

My vet will price match, all i have to do is bring in the catolog or online ad and they will match the price! Love it! Try asking yours about this.
