MY BROTHER FOUND A PUPPY LAST THURSDAY AND SHE IS VERY SICK. I'M NOT SURE HOW OLD SHE IS. SHE LOOKS VERY YOUNG, SOME WHERE BETWEEN 4-6 WEEKS OLD. ANYWAYS THE VET SAID SHE HAS HOOK WORMS AND SOMEOTHER TYPE OF WORM THAT STARTED WITH A C OR S. SHE HAS A TEMP. OF 104 AND THEY DIDN'T GIVE HER ANYTHING FOR IT. I ASKED IF THERE WAS ANYTHING I COULD DO TO LOWER IT AND THE LADY I SPOKE WITH (I THINK SHE WAS AN ASSISTANT) SAID NO. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON LOWERING HER TEMP?

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

Hi...I think that was an odd answer to your question. Seems even cool baths would help bring the temp down. Did they put your pup on any worm medicine/shots? Antibiotics? Any possibility it's parvo or ??? distemper? 4 to 6 weeks is awfully young. Is it a large or small breed? Also, is it eating/drinking? Perhaps a second opinion?

first off, you need a second opinion. make sure that you put her on medicine to de-worm her. when my dog has a temp, i take a recipe and make him a pupsicle, i will post the recipe in just a second.

One large container of yogurt (plain or vanilla or fat free)
1 or 2 bananas
3/4 cup of water
Mix in a blender or food processor
Pour into dixie cups (or any small paper cup)
Cover and freeze...couldn't be easier!

this isn't the same recipe i use, but it is really close, this is the one off of the chat titled Dog Treats.
This one looks just as good, but i use apples

THIS MORNING I NOTICED SHE WASN'T HOT ANYMORE, HOPEFULLY HER FEVER WENT AWAY.
I'M GOING TO TAKE HER BACK TO THE VET TOMORROW. I DIDN'T GO THE FIRST MY BROTHER DID AND HE DIDN'T KNOW OR DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE VET WHEN HE WENT SO HE WAS NO HELP AT ALL. I'M KIND OF PUT UP WITH HIM ANYWAYS BECAUSE THIS IS HE'S DOG AND I'M DOING ALL THE WORK FOR THE PAST 6 DAYS. I GOT 2 4 MONTHS OF PUPS AND 2 INDOOR CATS TO TAKE CARE OF TOO. THEN LAST NIGHT HE TELLS ME THAT HE'LL PROBABLY GET RID OF THE PUPPY BECAUSE HE WANT'S A HEALTHY DOG. HE DOESN'T DESERVE THE PRIVALGE OF HAVING ANY PET. HE'S GOING TO BE 24 THIS OCTOBER AND STILL ACTS LIKE A SELFISH BRATT! I'M NOT ACTUALLY SURE WHAT HE'LL DO WITH THE PUP IF HE GET'S RID OF IT. I KNOW IT WANT BE GOOD, SO I'M TRYING TO BEG HIM TO LET ME TAKE CARE OF IT AND FIND A HOME FOR HER BUT HE SAID NO BECAUSE IT'S HIS DOG AND HE'LL DO WHATEVER HE WANTS TOO!

I'M SORRY LET ME GET BACK TO THE PUPPY!

SHE SEEMS TO BE A BLUE TICK / BEAGLE;
SHE EATS A LITTLE AND I HAVE TO MAKE HER DRINK WATER. HER SKIN SEEMS TO BE FLAKING JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE!
SHE'S ON TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF MEDICINE FOR HER TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF WORMS BUT THAT'S ALL.

I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE AN UP DATE ON THE PUP!
WE WENT TO THE VET AND SHE SAID SHE'S LOOKING BETTER. HER TEMP WAS 102 SO THAT'S NORMAL
AND THEY GAVE HER FIRST SET OF SHOTS ALSO. BECAUSE HER SKIN LOOKED SO BAD THEY GAVE HER A BATH AND SHE LOOKS MUCH BETTER, SHE EVEN HAS A GOOD SMELL TO HER. MY BROTHER TOLD ME THIS MORNING THAT HE DIDN'T WANT HER ANYMORE SO I TOLD HIM I WOULD FIND A HOME FOR HER. I'VE SPENT SO MUCH TIME AND MONEY ON HER THAT I THINK I JUST MIGHT KEEP HER. SHE'S VERY TIMID AND ONLY COMES TO ME, AND I'M THE ONLY ONE SHE TRUSTS SO IT MAKES SINCE THAT I WOULD KEEP HER, RIGHT? I DO HAVE TWO OTHER PUPS OUTSIDE, LIKE I SAID EARLY THERE 4 MONTHS OLD. THERE BOTH MALES AND THE NEW PUP IS A FEMALE, SO I DON'T THINK THAT WOULD BE A PROBLEM WITH NOT GETTING ALONG. I GUESS I'LL JUST SEE HOW THINGS GO FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND IT IT DOESN'T WORK OUT THEN I KNOW OF A FRIEND WHO CAN HELP ME FIND A GOOD HOME FOR HER. MY FRIEND VOLUNTEERS WITH THE HUMANE SOCIETY AND SHE HELPS WITH THE ADOPTIONS AT PETSMART; WHICH I THINK THE ADOPT @ PETSMART THING WAS ONE OF THE BEST IDEAS. THAT'S WHERE I GOT ONE OF MY CATS FROM.

P.S.
I NAMED THE PUP JESS!
