I've read alot on this message board about a parvo recipe. My two pups have parvo and one is doing well but the other is not, I'm hoping this recipe will help him stop throwing up. If he doesn't stop vomiting, I'm afraid he won't make it. They are so very precious to us. Can anyone please send me this parvo recipe ASAP? my email is cathy2461@wmconnect.com IP: Logged |

Have these dogs been to the vet? I hope so before you try giving them anything. Did you ask your vet about giving them anything? What did s/he recommend??? IP: Logged |

yes they have both been to the vet. He gave them a anti serum, and something else for nausea by iv, He then gave me pedia sorb 10 cc's five times a day to give them then sent them home with me. It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you that our little Blue died about 4:00pm this afternoon right before our very eyes, It was so horrible. He was looking so good, then it seems like he just gave up, he wouldn't even swallow the water I tried to give him. I called the vet, and he said that he couldn't give him anymore anti serum, that we shouldjust to keep him warm, and keep giving him the fluids. We did all that it didn't help him. I feel so helpless right now, my daughter is devastated. She was up with Blue all night making sure he kept his fluids up. Patch my pup has been doing very well up until Blue died, he knows somehow that he is gone, misses him and he seems very depressed. He is still lapping water and the pedia sorb, but he is very lethargic, and does so very reluctantly. He hasn't thrown up for five hours, but his bm's have started to turn a dark red like Blue's did, and I am very scared at this point, I don't want him to die the way Blue did, it was so sudden, and he seemed in such great pain at the end. My heart is breaking, if there is anything that I can do besides what my vet told me to do, to help Patch survive please give me some advice quickly, before it is too late. Please help.. It's all over my sweet little friend did not make it. I got the recipe too and information too late for it to do any good. Patch lasted six days, he fought so hard but his system was too exhausted to win the battle. On Tuesday morning about 2:00am, he started going downhill, he wouldn't swallow anything, and it seemed the IV was not doing any good. I called the vet, and he said that there wasn't anything more that we could do for him but just wait and see. By 5:00am he was not able to urinate anymore, he just layed there and whimpered, I took him into the vet at soon as they opened their doors, and after examining him I was told that his kidneys had shut down. I could see that he was in so much pain, I asked if there was anything more that we could do, and the vet said no, the only thing that we could do for him at that point was to end his pain. I looked down at my little sweet puppy, my little precious friend, he was hurting and he did not deserve that, my heart broke in two and I could barely find the words, but I asked the vet to end his pain. Blue had died an agonizing death right in front of me. If I had know that he was dying at the time I would have spared Blue that pain also, but I didn't know. Remembering the way that Blue had died, I knew that I could not let Patch suffer the agony of death as Blue had. With all the love and joy that he had given me in the short time that I was priveldged to know him, he deserved a peaceful death. I have a big hole inside of me now, I miss them so much, it's been two days, but the tears keep flowing, everywhere I look I see things that remind me of his sweet little face. This house seems so empty, so quiet, so sad. Parvo is such a horrible disease, it is so unfair to have such wonderful little innocent puppies fall prey to it's deadliness. I do sincerely appreciate everyone that sent me the recipe, but I wish I had gotten hold of it sooner. I believe in my heart that if patch had gotten it sooner he would have made it, after all he did survive for six days of the disease, and didn't lose his strentgh till the last hours of the sixth day. Sadly, the parvaid arrived exactly seven hours after his death, I believe it would have helped too. I believe that the recipe should be posted somewhere more accessable on this website, it may not be FDA approved, and there are no guarantees that it will work, but at least it gives dog owners a chance to do everything possible to save their best friends little lives. With tears and a heart full of sorrow, Cathy IP: Logged |

Reading your post almost made me cry. It brought back the memories of my little Yorkie boy who contracted Parvo. He fought it has hard as he can with day and night help...But he was too little. We put him down so he wouldn't suffer. the pain is bad. And it will take time. But remember he doesn't feel anything right now. Intime it will get better. Sorry for your loss! Thank you all for your kind words. The pain is still there, and the tears are still flowing at times, but I know that my little babies are no longer suffering now, and that does give me some sort of peace in all this. I have been busy scouring the house and yard with bleach, I don't want anyone else's puppies to go through what Patch and Blue did. It's been a chore, but I know that it has to be done. I still think the recipe should be posted here somewhere with a disclaimer or something, or at least the web link to it. I talked to a lady in utah that sells it and she said that if you know that your dog has been exposed to Parvo, that early treatment with Parvaid before symptoms start can help their chances of surviving the disease, by strengthening their immune system. She said that even dogs that have been immunized can suffer mild symptoms of the disease when exposed to Parvo, and Parvaid can help ease even the smallest of the symptoms they might have. I hope that this information helps someone, and again I thank everyone for their kind words of sympathy, it is very much appreciated. Thank you, Cathy IP: Logged |
