Hi, I just got a new Puppy named max he is a boy 11 weeks and a English Springer, but i also have a girl English springer who is 4, and she is used to being the ceneter of attention, me and my mom always joked because we would say she thinks shes a human she dosnt get along well with dogs, well now i think its true. we brought home the puppy today and at first she was fine just sniffing him and all of a sudden she jumped at him, so now we have to train them to get along, or max has to go and i really dont wnat that, so anyone who can help please write back asap!

no its not that its just that she has never interacted with another dog. She had never been to a doggy park, all she did was see them when i walked her, and they would bark and she would bark back so of course noting seemed weird.

First off your dogs shouldnt have been introduced on her turf. It should have been done on neutral ground to see if they even got along. Secondly after you bring the new arrival home you should keep the dogs separated from each other than gradually introduce them and slowly start letting them spend more time together. But you start off with just seconds than gradually work up to hours this takes months. That is the best way to get the dogs to get along. YOu cant bring another dog into a household and expect them to get along right away. Sometimes you get lucky but it bery rarely happens. You played it smart by getting a male and a female. Are they both fixed? If not do it. This can lead to issues to. I know your boy may be too young but I hope your girl is. Most likely your girl will be dominant of your boy. That is normal females are usually dominant over males plus your female is older.
