Please help, any advise would be great. Yesterday, I found a puppy on the side of the road. He looks to be about 6-8 weeks old, mix-breed, possiably dumped by an owner or maybe just lost. He is very sick. Here are a list of things that are wrong...
He was very dirty, most of his hair is gone, his skin is scaly, covered in scabbs and soars, belly is bloated, he's lathargic, sleeps all day, moans when he's picked up. He has had very runny direrah and even after bathing him, he still smells aweful. Also, occasionally he shakes like he's cold. I have begune to feed him small amounts of soft food and water and have given him a good spot to rest. I can't afford to take him to a vet and I dont want to dump him off at the humainsociety. Any advise on what I could do to help this pup would be great! Thanks so much!

your puppy needs vet care.if you can't afford to take him to the vet the only other choice is to surrender him to the shelter so he can get the help he needs.they won't charge you for the surrender because he's a stray.if you would like to adopt the puppy ask them if you would be able to adopt him when he's better.your puppy sounds very sick and he's very young so please do something because he could die.
keep us updated and good luck

johnnhud.. i agree with what iluvmypup said.. it's sounds as though this pup is very sick.. the loss of fur, scaly scabs, and smell sounds very much like mange and the diarrhea could most definitely be worms of some type.. this pup needs medical attention immediately.. i would suggest you find a friend who would like to keep and pay medical expenses for this pup or surrender him to your local shelter.. good luck..

Given his young age I would say someone has dumped him, but he needs medical attention immediately, or he could die. There are some vet clinics who will deduct a portion off the bill off since he is a stray. Maybe someone with a credit card would help that way payments would be smaller or some vets will set up a monthly payment plan should you or someone you know decide to keep the poor fella. Otherwise bring him to a shelter.

good luck
