We have a three and a half year old rescue dog that we got when she was 7 mos. old. We believe she is a terrier/border collie mix, very smart and very high energy. She is house trained and we have never had a problem with her peeing in the house. In the last 4-5 weeks she has urinated 4 times on our bed where she is allowed to lay. It happened again last night. I took her to the park and she got a great amount of exercise. She drinks a lot of water so when we get home from the park I know to take her out about 2 hrs later. If she has to go she paces and whines to tell us. I took her out, she peed and we came in. This was around
7 p.m. She then went into the bedroom and lay on the bed. When we came to bed at 11 p.m. she had urinated on the bed where she was lying and then was still lying there. I thought dogs would not generally pee or poop where they sleep. But we don't know what to do because she usually is very vocal about letting us know that she needs to go out and these past 4 times have all happened without us hearing sound from her, they have all happened in the same place, and after she does it she continues to lie in it. Any ideas about what might be going on?

Are you sure she peed? I know Goo sometimes lays on my bed and licks her feet/butt/tail, and when I come in there, there's usually a spot that looks like she peed on the bed. The first couple times, I thought she had, but after catching her licking a few time, I realized what it was. To be sure, maybe put a white sheet/blanket down before she gets up there, and if she pees, it'll probably show up as yellowish. If it is pee, maybe she's "leaking" in her sleep, which is not uncommon in older (though she's not really "old" yet) female dogs, and can usually be treated. First, check to see if it's actually pee, then if it is, take her to the vet and have them check for bladder infections, UTIs, etc and ask them if it could be "leaking". If you find nothing there, then if it were my dog, I'd have bloodwork done to see if there's something deeper going on.

Please take her to the vet, that is a sign of an infection and can be resolved with medications

You need to take her to the vet...I have a small breed dog who had this same thing happen, he had never ever had an accident. When she goes outside, watch her...is it a steady stream? how much does she go? if you can see...is there any blood in the urine? My dog would stand out there for a very long time with his leg up, and some urine would come out, but it was in little bursts at first and then it would just drip. He had Kidney stones, tons of them...surgery and new food were the course of action. It is very serious though, if they cannot release the urine in there body, those toxins build up and they can die. IAM NOT saying this is the case with your dog at all, just relaying to you that those symptoms sound like what happened with our dog.
