How are they? Good with kids? How much energy?

I hear they have a lot of energy. We have a nice size yard but not fenced. We have a 2000 sq. house.

My dh said he'll run with her. But that will be 3 days a week for a mile each time. (in the winter that'll go to a hault possible incase of weather--we live in MI)

We have a nice size basement my boys play in. Minimal stuff down there...so the dog and kids can run around there.

Does it sound like we have a family that would be compatible with a Brittany?

My dh hunts but that won't be often at all.

I don't own one but if your all are willing to do the walking, perhaps put up a fence so the neighbors don't start a war with you, because if a dog can get out and poop on someone elses turf he will. It pays to be a responsible dog owner. Your neighbors will still like you. You can still walk your dog in the snow. There are dog coats and even dog booties that protect the dogs feet from the snow. There are people in small aparments that are able to care for their bigger dogs, so I am sure your family can do it. And to sweeten the whole thing, what does your family think about rescuing a dog in need. Check out petfinder.com put in your zip code and put in brittany spaniel. See what happens. It will make your family proud to save a dogs life.
