I've had both, and cant tell you that I've seen any diff. I think its how you train or treat them. All the dogs I have had were very loveing and very protective. I've a almost 2 year old female pound rescue now thats no different, she's sweet as can be, loves attentiion, gets along good with other dogs, she loves small kids, but will shy from older kids. Like I said above trained and treated, maby the breed, I don't know.

I have both, but I think I like females a bit better because I don't have to worry about her lifting her leg to (anoint) someones couch or wall if we take her to someone elses home.

I bend to getting male dogs. They seem less moody. If you get them fixed at the right age you won't have to worry about thrm lifting their legs. It is also cheeper usually to get them fixed! =)
