Keep him confined when you cant watch his every move. If you see him look like he is about to go on the carpet...quickly grab him and place him on the newspaper. There is no point in correcting him (telling him NO and showing him not to do it) unless you catch him in the act. Otherwise he will not understand. IP: Logged |

If the puupy is just peeing it could be a urinary tract infection. Sometimes they will do good, but then get an infection and start having acidents again. You might want to talk to your vet about it. IP: Logged |

he's peeing on the paper but he's going poopy in the other room. i've decided to buy a baby gate to keep him from going in there that way i can watch his every move, and he won't be able to sneak off. tx for all your advise IP: Logged |

If he is pooping that much you may be either feeding him too much. I was feeding my puupy too much at first and instead of getting fat it just passes through their system, until they are older and then they will get fast. A dog's stomach is about the size of their head. I don't know how much you are feeding him, but it's just an idea. IP: Logged |

the way I trained my puppy was when you catch them in the act, immidiately drag them outside and wait outside until they go potty. bring treats if possible and reward them when they go. use the command "hurry up" or "go potty" or whatever you want to call it, they'll eventually associate going potty outside with getting a treat. it may take a month to get them fully trained, but it works. One other thing is that puppies under a year need to go out every two to three hours regularly. IP: Logged |
