sometimes dogs do this when bored. try providing more stimulants to occupy time. how long is your dog left in the yard for?

i dont have any ideas apart from trying to keep him amused but i do have a funny story. my brother had a lil jack russelX pup a long time ago and he kept digging holes in the lawn. a friend suggested to us to put a balloon in the hole and cover it up so when he digs it will burst and scare him. so we went ahead and did it and watched and waited till he dug. he did, and when he spotted the balloon he ended up going nuts around the backyard, ended up pulling the balloon out and attacking it [bursting it] and tried to dig for more balloons!! haha..
