my thirteen year old husky has started peeing in the living room. she only does this at night while we are sleeping. it can be as little as 2-3 hrs after we go to bed. she can stay in all day while we are gone and not do this. we have tried everything and can't seem to get her to stop any suggestions. As she's 13 years old, and has only started to do this. I think you need a vet check soon. It wouldn't be behavioural. It could be the beginning of kidney or bladder problems in a dog that age, that would need prompt professional treatment. Please don't leave it, it could lead to serious problems. IP: Logged |

Just like elderly humans lose bladder control and function a senior dog can too. At 13 it may be that 2-3 hrs is all the bladder can take. I know my 12 yo needs to go out every 4-5 hrs where before could hold it much longer. Maybe there are times when she is drinking more water -- hence the frequent urination. A vet check should help.
