My seven year old springer spaniel has sores around her neck and other areas of her body the are hard bumps the size of a dime. They do'nt seem to bother her and she does not scratch so Im not sure what they are caused from. Can any types of dog sores been dangerous to young children? Can they get sick or something? Right now I do'nt have the money to take her to the vet so any info. on this would help. Thankyou

It's impossible for anyone here to say what the sores are - I'm afraid only a vet can do that. They could be caused by a number of things - allergy, infection, mange, ringworm, fleas even. Is your dog deflead regularly?

No sores on animals are good for children to touch. And sores on a dog need quick attention. I really think you need to get this dog to a vet quickly - many vets will arrange a payment plan for people having financial problems. Contact a couple of vets and explain your problem and see if they can help you.

It could also be mosquito bites... if it is, you need to have her tested for heartworms as soon as possible, and get her on a preventative. As someone else mentioned, it's also possible that it's allergies, or bites from some other type of bug (flies, fleas, who knows) or a skin problem that needs to be treated. Take her to the vet and see if they'll allow you do do payments on her care.
