Good Morning, I have a Lab pup 13 weeks old and his main objective in life is to eat, now when I say eat I mean he eats his food tries to eat the big dogs food then he proceeds to lick the kitchen floor or anywhere else he thinks food might have been. I have 2 other dogs females a 1 and a half year Rottweiler and a 2 year old Pit Bull and when they were babies they ate their food and they were done of course they also wanted my food but that's a given. He has actually learn to get up on the dinning room chairs so he cn see if there is food on the table. I think I am giving him enough food I give him a little more than what it says on the puppy food bag. Is there something else I should be doing? It seems lately the only thing coming out of my mouth is NO NO NO. The others dogs get confused because they ar not sure if they are doing something wrong. Thanks! It seems that most labs are chow hounds. Proper training is probably the best way to keep her from looking for food on the table. If she is gaining weight properly for a young pup (you can ask your vet if your unsure) than you are most likely feeding her enough. My dog is part Redbone coonhound and is also a chow hound, she eats her dog food in about 5 minutes and continues to look for more food. She appears to be always hungry which is pretty common in some dogs. Good luck. IP: Logged |
