My puppy is 12 weeks old. I have been reading different things about potty training. The one thing they say is keep an eye on them so after they drink water you should take them out 10 to 15 minutes later.OK no big deal, he goes potty ,BUT he comes back inside and drinks more water so I am doing this all day, and how is that helping him learn to hold it? He sleeps in his crate at night so he can hold it now up to 6 to 7 hours. The nightime is not a problem it is his drinking constantly,my puppy has a drinking problem! He does not have any bladde infections the vet said he was fine. Please help. I live in an apt. on the 3rd floor it gets tiring go up and down the stairs all day. Thanks

It's to soon to expect your puppy to "hold it" after drinking water. That comes in time.

For now you MUST limit access to water. Only provide water at meal times and when you can take your puppy out within 10-15 minutes. Otherwise NO MORE WATER

Cut off water at night also. We used to cut off water by 7pm. Otherwise your pup will never make it through the night.

You need to help him succeed so he learns good habits. Don't set him up to fail with too much water.

Good Luck! Puppies are so much fun ~ enjoy!
